Documentary focuses on the challenges and impact of homelessness

Berlin, MD- The Worcester County Homeless Board, in partnership with Red Doors Community Center, will host a viewing of the film: Lost in Woonsocket on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 5pm. Lost in Woonsocket is a docudrama following two homeless individuals on a journey of recovery, friendship, struggle and support. The Homeless Board hopes the film will help the community better understand the struggles someone experiencing homelessness may face.

Effective January 2, 2019, the WCHD Vital Records Department will be open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

This week, Worcester County Health Department launched a new video series highlighting the people behind the health department’s unique programs. “Meet Our Program Directors” focuses on what services and resources each department provides, how community members can connect, day-to-day operation of each program, and introduces each program director so residents can learn about the dedicated professionals working to improve public health in Worcester County.

Local Health Improvement Coalitions (LHICs) equip local jurisdictions to determine their public health priorities and address specific public health concerns. The Worcester County Local Health Improvement Coalition seeks a broad membership from the community to assist the local health department and its partners in determining local health priorities and the Community Health Improvement Plan.
