altSand Castles operates a Basic Center for runaway/homeless youth adjacent to the Ocean City Youth Health Center on Caroline Street. Services include: crisis intervention, individual, group, and family counseling, life skills, shelter, domestic violence outreach and education, and follow-up services. Youth can access these services through a 24-hour hotline.




Sand Castles is a FREE mobile crisis based program designed to meet the immediate needs of runaway and/or unaccompanied homeless youth in Worcester County. Sand Castles is operated by the Worcester Health Case Management Unit.

Services:   

  • A youth Drop-In Center.
  • Basic support services including food, clothing, and temporary shelter.
  • Crisis counseling (individual, family, group).
  • Program connection and referrals.
  • A safe place to get help.
  • Community outreach and education on RHY issues.


Eligibility: Youth who are in Worcester County, between the ages of 12-17, have  runaway or threatened to runaway, homeless without parental permission or supervision, and/or reside in an unsafe environment.
